Are you wanting to get your foot in the door at a fast-growing Company? Webber, an industry leader in construction and infrastructure, is seeking a dynamic Mechanical Engineer to join our team.
Your Role:Driving excellence through technical expertise and innovation
Ferrovial Webber Energy is a new division within Webber to support EPC renewable generation projects, especially Solar and Wind farms, in the US. A Mechanical Engineer will supervise the execution of renewable power generation projects.
What You Will Do:
Supervision of the execution of the mechanical installation works to ensure the safe, timely and successful completion of their assigned work.
Field support for installation and quality control.
Analyze bid documentation, review RFPs, and understand potential risks for a project
Responsible for reviewing design drawings, ensuring compliance, and inspecting the mechanical work for compliance before, during, and after product installation.
Determine that construction work is in conformance with the design documents. Review tests and inspection reports submitted by the field team and identifying non-conforming results and coordinating resolution.
Quality assurance and quality control review of the mechanical components and installations at all stages of the project, checking accurate execution in accordance with regulations and installation manual.
Prevent deficiencies through pre-construction quality control inspection.
Detect deficiencies and addressed deficiencies in a timely and effective manner.
Follow the development of the project schedule with the Project Team and ensure the team is executing to the plan, meeting project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
Work with the Quality dept. to develop inspection and test plans.
Develop best practices and standard tools to use to continuously improve operational efficiency.
Manage the inventory process at reception and material tracking log during installation: inspection, offload, receiving, storage and installing.
Ensure all materials associated with installation are in accordance with approved submittals and product data to ensure compliance with job site specifications.
Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks, and issues.
Support the estimating team on developing bid out RFQs and facilitate communication and coordination between internal team, subcontractors, and the clients.
Keepaccurate project documentation, records, and communications throughout these processes is expected.
Know the key operational details of the subcontract and holds the subcontractors accountable to their agreement and the company's standards.
Review daily reports as well as Subcontractor's daily reports for accurate hours, time coding, production quantities, and activity summaries
Conduct field visits to gather relevant data on project site conditions, adjusting this information to deliver the most competitive bid proposal.
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors and reviews quotations
Who You Are: A Profile of Success
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
+2 years of experience in construction field, Solar field preferred.
Strong Mechanical Engineering fundamentals.
Experience in quality and inspection procedures.
Experience in management of bill of materials, inventory, and work instructions.
Experience in coordinate schedule and site progress
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, high level of autonomy and proactiveness.
Problem-solving skills.
Solid time management and excellent organizational skills.
Proficient in understanding mechanical drawings and project specs.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents such assembly procedures and installation manuals, operating and maintenance instructions.
Extensive hands-on experience with photovoltaic tracking solar systems
Considerable knowledge of all construction tools, machinery methods and procedures
Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
Capable of determining calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities interacting with clients, engineering firms and subcontractors.
Flexibility and strong capabilities to work under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
