In 2014, in a consortium with Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 4 (MEIF4), we acquired a 50% stake in AGS, the company that owns the Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton airports.
Glasgow Airport is one of the seven British airports that belonged to the
BAA (British Airport Authority) portfolio, which we acquired in June 2006.
During this time, we have carried out several projects that have contributed to transforming the airport’s infrastructure. The most relevant include the construction of a dedicated passenger drop-off and pick-up facility, the modernization and expansion, and the construction and management of Lomond Lounge.
The airport is the key driver of economic development in western Scotland. We contribute approximately 1.44 billion pounds to the Scottish economy, employ 187 people, and generate an additional 5,500 jobs in the area.
Glasgow is the second busiest airport in Scotland after Edinburgh and is
the largest for long-haul flights, connecting Scotland with Asia and the North
Atlantic.
